INDIAWOOD since its inception in 1999 has offered a successful platform to convert market potential to business in the woodworking sector. India's woodworking industry is maturing into a sophisticated & mechanized industry, the woodworking sector is opening up enormous opportunities for business in India due to its internal requirement. Besides, a number of big business houses are exploring this sunrise industry by establishing huge furniture manufacturing facilities for exports as well as for pan India distribution. Many international furniture brands are establishing manufacturing facilities in India.

Bangalore-the perfect location. Bangalore has been home to INDIAWOOD since its modest beginning in 1999. INDIAWOOD was conceived to cater to the boom in the Indian Woodworking Industry with the objective of providing an educative & beneficial platform. As the Indian economy grew, it also opened up opportunities for the Woodworking Industry.
INDIAWOOD in 1999 started with 3000 sq. mtrs. & 103 participants from India and Overseas. The 2002 show doubled in size to a 6000 sq. mtrs exhibition showcasing 220 participants from 22 countries. The 2004, 2006 & 2008 editions set new benchmarks in the Woodworking Industry.
INDIAWOOD 2010 set an astounding landmark. With over 30000 sq. mtrs.of exhibition space, INDIAWOOD established its position as the single largest sourcing ground for Woodworking Technologies for the entire ASIAN Woodworking community. The event had more than 450 participants with over 49% of participation from the overseas companies & Country Pavilions from Germany, Italy, Malaysia, China, USA, Taiwan, Turkey & Brazil.
The 7th Edition of INDIAWOOD is now scheduled for 10-14 February 2012 and is being held in Bangalore, once again.
Bangalore is well connected by rail, road and air to all cities in South India, and is a perfect base for many weekend getaways like Mysore, Belur, Halebid, Mangalore, Mercara, Bandipur, BR Hills, Kabini, Hampi and Jog Falls etc.
